We have officially adopted Tenggiling Village—the very place where we grew up. Through GAFF, we are dedicated to upskilling the community we know so well and ensuring the next generation has the tools to succeed. Our funding supports:
Skill Development: Providing vocational training in traditional handicrafts and professional baking to create sustainable local income.
Language Empowerment: Hosting English language classes to help villagers communicate their stories and heritage confidently with international guests.
Educational Support: Providing essential school supplies—including uniforms and stationery—for underprivileged students in Tenggiling and the surrounding neighboring villages.
Community-Based Tourism: We have curated a flagship experience here where guests join villagers for light hiking, cycling, and river tubing. You will learn to prepare traditional Dusun cuisine directly with the locals before enjoying a peaceful lunch by the riverside.
I was raised in a humble farming family where education was often a secondary priority to daily survival. When my family moved to the city to seek a better life, we faced a world so competitive that even basic necessities like food were sometimes scarce. Through the incredible perseverance of my parents, we were able to stay in school and eventually achieve our Master’s degrees.
This journey taught me a vital lesson: Potential is universal, but opportunity is not. I know how difficult it is for a student to focus on their studies when they lack the most basic school essentials. Through GAFF, we work to remove those barriers for the next generation in Sabah’s rural communities.
